Rooted Farmers is an agricultural technology startup dedicated to providing small farms with the tools and resources necessary for growing and scaling their businesses. We serve as an online sales platform, connecting farmers with local businesses and shoppers.
Rooted is comprised of a small but growing team of passionate doers based in the Northeast. We are seeking a mission-driven Software Engineer who is committed to empowering women-led businesses; you will be responsible for tackling major development projects, building simple and beautiful application interfaces, and expanding the company’s technical infrastructure.
This is a full-time role. You will work remotely, and should be located in the Northeast to facilitate some regular in-person collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Reading, writing, and reviewing application code, with a focus on maintainability and performance
- Writing and maintaining data-level integration tests
- Collaborating with team members and customers to define and implement new features
- Documenting systems as you build and test
- Operating the platform, including responding to alerts and triaging support requests
- Keeping informed of industry best-practices and trends
- Participating in a fast-paced environment and communicating effectively with the team
Qualifications:
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 1+ years experience with Typescript (Node.js and React)
- Previous work or internship experience
